Two amazing acts in one night! \nAbout Backwater Township \nBackwater Township is a Montreal-based Indigenous-led jazz fusion collective\, led by Mi’kmaq composer and bassist Corey Thomas. Over the past several years they’ve built a reputation as one of the most exciting live acts in the city blending jazz tradition\, swing\, and indie groove into something that’s hard to pin down and impossible to ignore. Their music has been featured on CBC Radio’s Saturday Night Jazz and the Minotan \, and they’ve been recognized by CULTMTL as one of the best jazz acts in Montreal (2023 Best Of List). \nThis summer they’ve been tearing through New Brunswick\, Quebec\, and Ontario hitting stages in Fredericton\, Moncton\, Riverview\, Carleton\, Campbellton\, Ottawa\, and Gatineau. After a summer on the road there’s nothing quite like a hometown show. \nThey’ll also be performing material from their highly anticipated fifth album\, releasing later in 2026.
